
Tamila Koulieva
Biography
Tamilla Fakhraddinovna Kulieva (Russian: Тамилла Фахраддиновна Кулиева, Baku, February 16, 1967) is a Greek-Russian actress of theater, film and television.
She studied directing at the Moscow State University of Culture and acting at the Moscow State University of Cinematography (VGIK), where she received a master's degree in Fine Arts. While teaching improvisation techniques at the same University, she was an active member of the theater group "Uzatsovka" in Moscow and participated in four Russian films. Since 1992, she has been teaching, according to the methods of "Michael Chekhov", acting and improvisation in many drama schools, at the National Theater of Greece as well as the State Theater of Northern Greece. She was a member of the jury at the Thessaloniki International Film Festival (chaired by Otar Iosseliani) and at the Athens International Film Festival “Premiere Nights” (chaired by Max von Sydow). She has received the UNESCO Gold Medal for Arts, Letters and Sciences. She is an honorary member of the Baku Slavic University (BSU). She has been honored as a benefactor for her continuous contribution by the Hadjikyriake Foundation for Child Protection. She was a presenter of the documentary series “Athens Calls Moscow”, which was her own idea, on ERT, the public broadcaster of Greece.
