Thomas ends up in a jail cell with Merth of all people. The weird guy who takes care of his little houseplant, reads books and doesn't really care much about himself. With no way of avoiding each other, the only thing left for them to do is confront their differences. Everyday life is characterized by monotony, violence and the search for protection and humanity. The law of the fittest applies, here the genes decide whether and how to survive in the hostile environment.
